Sunset camel trekking in Erg Chebbi, Merzouga Desert. This sunset camel ride excursion will be a wonderful experience. Watching the sun disappear over the villages with orange and white sand dunes, breathing in the beautiful scents of the Sahara Desert and having the opportunity to take some amazing photos will make this an experience you will never forget.

Your sunset camel trek starts around 5:30pm. The camel ride takes about 30 minutes to reach the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. You then leave your camel and walk about 80 meters to reach the highest sand dune of Merzouga.

If you want a panoramic view you will have to climb to the top, which takes another 10 minutes. If you don’t want to climb to the highest dune, the area around the camel “parking lot” is the best place to watch the sunset. After this short enjoyment, you will return to the village before dark. This sunset camel trek also includes a stop at a garden and a brief explanation of the desert canal system.
